so it has been confirmed the oilers are going to get a new arena. katz group were the people behind this idea. they believe that this new arena is the better way for oilers to go. they also have plans to create a "performing arts theatre, a casino, homes, offices, shops and space for educational development." katz group want the arena to be in downtown.
" Journal sources indicated the project could spur a $1-billion downtown redevelopment, featuring an 18,000-to 20,000-seat arena linked to a smaller practice rink, and student housing."
this project can be a great deal for the edmonton oilers and for the city of edmonton because edmonton is investing on capital goods instead of consumer goods and hopefully this project will lead to a better city of edmonton.
